July 3rd Round-Up Part Two!

Happy holidays, welcome to Part Two of the July 3rd Round-Up!

This week we celebrate Canada Day and America's Independence Day, a chance to celebrate the best that our countries have to offer with friends and family.

We have one book left to give away, Tyler's Dinner at My Place. If you would like a chance to win this book, and if you are a participant in Tyler Florence Fridays, please leave a comment here or on Part One of the round-up about why you are proud of your own little corner of the world. Maybe you have a fabulous museum, awesome mountains, a great bike path or a kind-hearted mayor. We want to know what makes you proud of your neighbourhood.
And Tyler, if you are reading this... we need more books... or something.. for our fabulous TFF participants to win!

Speaking of fabulous, let's see what else is cooking this week...

Arlene from The Food of Love tried Tyler's Chicken Parmesan this week. "Keeping it real," as Randy would say, "this wasn't one of our favorite Tyler recipes.
The wonderful thing about food, though, is that we all have our own proclivities, so you may find the Kalamata enhanced tomato sauce is just your thing," says Arlene.

Jessica of My Baking Heart made Tyler's Chicken Noodle Ramen Soup this week. "There are so many ways you can change this one up, but I decided to stick with it as written since I was short on time. This took just a few minutes and was so yummy… perfect for kiddos this summer and such an awesome way to jazz up Ramen noodles. This is definitely a keeper!"

Deb of Kahakai Kitchen made Grilled Brie and Tomato on Crusty Bread this week, opting for a delicious but simple dish to nibble on in the hot weather. "Delicious! A great combination of textures, the crusty bread, creamy, nutty Brie and the tomatoes, broiled until they split and all of their flavor comes through. I added a few flakes of what is probably my favorite salt, (Although with my vast and beloved salt collection this is a bit like picking a favorite a favorite child), Halen Môn."

Kim of Stirring the Pot made Dr. Tyler's Chicken Meatball and Tortellini Soup this week. "I chose this recipe as a way to use up some pantry and freezer ingredients. I thought Tyler's take on chicken noodle soup was unique and original. I enjoyed the flavor of the chicken meatball and the cheese ravioli and thought it was a very flavorful and substantial soup. "

Over at Living in the Kitchen with Puppies, I made two tomato dishes from Tyler's recipes, this one is Summer Tomatoes, Slashed and Stuffed. I loved the soft and buttery tomatoes with the hint of basil. This would be perfect as a side for a grilled steak dinner, it just tastes like summer.

And our choice for feature dish this week - is the pop-in-your-mouth delicious dish by Jenny of All Things Edible who made Tyler's Salt and Pepper Shrimp

Congratulations Jenny! Your dish will be up on Tyler's blog next week.

If you haven't read Part One of our July 3rd round-up, click here or scroll down for more delicious dishes.

Thanks for all your awesome work guys! Have a wonderful holiday.

All the food this week looks great!!

I love where I live... Greensboro, NC is centrally located in the middle of the state and offers easy access to both the mountains and the beaches. We are blessed with four distinct seasons here. The state offers some great vinyards and attractions for everyone in the family (Carowinds, Emerald Pointe, hiking, multiple state parks). Restaurants are abundant here and you have a choice of all types of cuisines.

What I most especially love is it is a great place to raise a family. Having lived in different states, this is one I'm proud to call home. It offers southern charm, strong family beliefs, good schools, and friendly people. The schools still bless the food at lunch time, the churches help out in the community, and neighbors help neighbors.

Wow! I'm super excited about being featured!

I own the book, so to be fair to others that don't, I'm not going to enter. (But have to say, I took two kids to the US today for some shopping and no one looked at them funny or asked silly questions about the Canada flag tattoos on their faces, they just smiled at them, and that's a great thing about where I live, tolerance!)

Wow - all the dishes this week look great!

My corner of the world - Missoula MT, is a great place to live. We are surrounded by mountains on three sides, which means are winters are mild (by Montana standards) and our summers are comfortable. Missoula has more bikes per capita than any other place in the country, and is home to some of the friendliest people around. And if you want to get away for a while, Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks are just a few hours away, and there are many National Wilderness areas and wild and scenic rivers for the perfect day trip.

Part One & Part Two are filled with such yummy choices!

I love my hometown in North Texas - we have a great arts district and we're home to a huge, beautiful lake that many people visit year-round. President Eisenhower and "Sully" Sullenberger are from here... Sully was a good friend of my dad's in high school, too! :)

Wow, I can't beleive the round up was so big it had to be split! That's great! I hope to back next week. I live in RI, and it is great in our little corner of the world for many things. My favorite are all the "pick your own" places we have around- strawberries, blueberries, apples, and of course all the shellfish you could want- if you like that kind of stuff....
